About Phlebotomy Class

DEFINITION OF PHLEBOTOMY

The historical definition of phlebotomy is the practice of opening a vein by incision or puncture to remove blood for therapeutic purposes (also known as bloodletting). A more modern definition is the act of collecting blood from the veins, generally for the purpose of laboratory testing and/or analysis.




DESCRIPTION OF THE CLASS

This 20 hour phlebotomy class meets on two weekdays 5:00pm to 10:00pm and one Saturday 8:00am to 6:00pm (see calendar for dates).

It does NOT include clinical phlebotomy hours. Information and contacts are provided for those who wish to complete clinical hours independently.

STEPPING STONE

This class is for students who wish to pursue a career as a phlebotomist, gain an understanding about phlebotomy, or just to indicate on their resume that they have completed a phlebotomy course. Additional courses may be required by an employer.

CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION

Once you have completed the phlebotomy class, you will receive a "Certificate of Completion" indicating that you have received education in phlebotomy.

The cost for the 20 hour phlebotomy class is:

Which is all inclusive (no additional costs)
